Synod heard testimony from a lady who shared some of her background of growing up in Newcastle in very difficult circumstances. She shared about her struggles with drugs and her journey to freedom from addiction to finding God and finding her calling in caring for others. This was first with a lady who had Huntington’s disease and now with teenage girls from difficult backgrounds.
She does this through Action for Children and has been fostering for seven years. In this time she has fostered seven girls, some of these have been for short periods of time but she has looked after one for four years. She finds the system she works in is the biggest challenge she and others face.
Her greatest reward is being given the chance to care and bless the girls she has been given to look after.
